Frequently asked questions

Q: Is the Pod considered a medical device?
A: No, it is only a conveyor and has no medicinal properties. Like a Jacuzzi bath or a sauna, the saltarium does nothing to directly impact the user. It is the salt in it's dry aerosol mist state that has positive health benefits.
Q: What can I expect at my visit?
A: A typical session will last 30 minutes. The first 5 minutes are time for you to prepare and enter the Pod. The session will last 23 minutes, and the last 2 minutes are for exiting the Pod.  If you are concerned with respiratory issues, you may enter the Pod fully dressed without concern about the salt damaging your clothing. The amount of salt used during a session is well under 1 teaspoon. If you are interested in treating skin issues, you may remove your clothing depending on the privacy afforded by your location and your own level of modesty. The Pod is designed for individual sessions and is meant to be a private experience. Throughout your session you will be misted with the dry aersol salt substance curing respiratory and skin ailments while you relax and de-stress.
Q: What is the recommended or needed number of treatments?
A: Research has shown that a series of initial treatment works best followed by occasional maintenance sessions. A general guideline recommendation is:
For respiratory issues: A minimum of 2 times per week for 4 weeks or for faster results daily or every other day for 6 to 7 sessions and then once or twice every 3 to 4 months.
For skin issues: 3 times per week for 4 weeks and then once or twice a week as needed.
Q: Are there any side effects to Salt Therapy?
A: There are no known side effects to Salt Therapy. Some clients may experience increased coughing as the body clears the lungs. In rare cases clients may have a slight skin rash or itch that goes away in 3-5 days. This irritation may mean that the salt concentration is too high for that client and should be adjusted.
Q: Are there age limits or restrictions?
A: No, there are no limitations based on age. It is safe for people of all ages. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. As a courtesy, children under 6 years of age are free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
